Quality Assurance

At WilliamsRDM, quality assurance is not just a department—it’s the foundation of our identity, especially as we serve mission-critical aerospace, defense, and fire suppression customers. Our commitment to excellence ensures every product we deliver meets or exceeds the exacting demands of the platforms and environments in which they operate.

Our Quality Policy

WilliamsRDM proactively helps clients solve their problems and attain their business goals by limiting risk, satisfying requirements, reducing cost, and improving product consistency, quality, performance, and on-time delivery.

Our Quality Promise

  • We maintain full compliance with major quality standards including AS9100D (with ISO 9001:2015), beyond typical manufacturing practices.
  • Our workmanship is certified to industry-recognized standards such as IPCA610, IPC/WHMAA620, and JSTD001.
  • We use Six Sigma-informed processes, robust documentation, traceability, and rigorous inspection regimes to guarantee product integrity from raw material to finished assembly.

Why It Matters

In markets like aerospace and defense, the cost of failure is unacceptable. Whether it’s a ground-support system, a cable assembly for a combat aircraft, or a specialized connector for a flight-critical platform, our customers rely on WilliamsRDM parts and assemblies to perform flawlessly. That’s why our quality assurance systems are designed not only to meet customer expectations, but to anticipate and pre-empt potential issues before they arise.

Key Pillars of Our Quality System

Design Compliance & Documentation

A person is viewing a computer screen displaying a detailed architectural or engineering design in a CAD software application, showing colored lines, measurements, and labels. The screen is the main focus, with the person blurred in the foreground.

Every product we build is tied to a rigorous design specification—whether in-house or customer-supplied—backed by material certifications, manufacturing routings, work-instructions, and full –traceability throughout.

Process Control & Manufacturing Discipline

A man wearing gloves uses a caliper to measure a metal component in an industrial setting. The focus is on the measuring tool and metal object, with the man slightly blurred in the background.

From advanced 5-axis machining, Swiss turning, PCB assembly, and cable harness production, each process step is governed by documented control plans, calibrated tooling, and operators certified to the applicable standard (e.g., IPC). We maintain near-clean-room conditions where required to safeguard product integrity.

In-Process & Final Inspection

A Micro-Hite 2D height gauge stands on a workbench. It has a tall vertical measuring column, a digital control panel with a blue display, and measuring accessories placed nearby, against a gray background.

We apply “right-first-time” inspection philosophies: in-process checks, first-article inspections, periodic audits, and 100% final inspection wherever specified. We leverage proven measurement systems, test fixtures, and automated electrical test equipment to validate performance and environmental compliance.

Traceability & Auditability

A row of large green military-style storage cases sits on a long white table in an industrial room, with bins of metal tools and parts placed underneath the table.

Every component, test result, and assembly has full traceability: lot numbers, calibrated instrument logs, inspection records. This enables rapid root-cause investigation if ever a non-conformance occurs—and helps ensure corrective actions are effective and verifiable.

Continuous Improvement & Customer Feedback Loop

A laboratory or office space with a metal shelving unit, a workbench holding equipment and boxes, desks with computers, a wall calendar, and a poster of a plane on the wall. The area appears organized and well-lit.

We don't wait for problems to surface. Our continuous improvement program encourages cross-functional participation (engineering, manufacturing, quality) in identifying process improvement opportunities. Customer feedback, return data, and internal metrics feed into our quality management system, supporting corrective/preventive action (CAPA) and driving year-over-year performance gains.

Let’s build quality together.
